How to choose the right plant for your situation

Often there is a lot of different plants that you can buy - and theres lots of information on the internet that you can find saying the easiest plants to keep alive etc, so here's a little handy guide if you have a small space and want to start a small plant collection.

Easy to care for

  1. Snake plant 
  2. Spider plant 
  3. Fishbone Cactus 

The above plants require very little care, and are a great addition to any space, as you could just keep them on the edge of a bookcase or on a side table. 

The snake plant is also an air purifying plant, Also called the mother-in-law’s tongue, the snake plant is an inexpensive way to bring clean air into your bedroom at night. This low maintenance plant converts carbon dioxide into oxygen while you sleep. The snake plant also eliminates volatile compounds like formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene, toluene, and benzene from the air which are all toxic to humans.


The spider plant is easy to grow and maintain plant can remove 90 percent of toxins from your home in two days! The leaves grow quite fast and absorb mold and allergens. So if you or a household member is prone to dust allergies, this plant can be the answer to your woes. It also eliminates small amounts of formaldehyde and carbon monoxide from the air.


Finally the fishbone cactus, it isn't air purifying - but it does make up for its striking leaf structure, and the way it hangs down. it's great in a hanging basket, or a macrame hanging pot - it also looks great on top of a bookshelf as the leaves trail down.
