Productivity boosting plants to help you work from home

In 2013 The University of Technology Sydney conducted research which found that having plants in your workspace can be productive to your working day. Even with just one plant on your desk, you could find that you achieve a 37 per cent reduction in tension, 44 per cent reduction in anger and 38 per cent reduction in fatigue. 

We know many of you are working from home currently so why not fill your workspace with plants to help boost your productivity! 

Here's a round up of some of our faves! 

Alocasia Polly

Alocasia Polly or Elephant Ear as it is commonly know has beautiful arrowhead shaped leaves. The wavy crinkled leaves have large protruding white veins running through them which contrast the rest of the leaf

Aloe Vera

The ever-popular Aloe Vera, sometimes known as barbadensis or Barbados Aloe is known for its beauty, resilience and medicinal properties. This succulent has tall, spined, dull green leaves with a fleshy texture which retains water.

Asparagus Sprengeri Fern

An elegant plant, with bushier round stems and near horizontal spreading frond-like branches. Initially bushy, the stems become more tendril-like as the plant matures.

Aspidistra

Aspidistra does exactly what it says on the tin, nicknamed cast iron plant as it is almost indestructible! They are perfect for absolutely anywhere in the home, you don't need to worry about too much or too little sunlight. 

Calathea Lancifolia Rattlesnake

Calathea Lancifolia is a wonderfully showy houseplant. It has upright, lance-shaped leaves with long wavy edges that form in clumps, spreading slowly over time. The leaves are variegated with dark green strokes on a pale green background. The undersides are a burgundy red and velvety to the touch.

Blue Form Pothos

Blue Form Pothos, with its long cascading vines and pointed leaves, makes a beautiful table or hanging plant. This plant can also be trained to grow on a pole or trellis. All Pothos Plants have been found to be very efficient in cleaning the air of harmful chemicals.

Hoya Australis

Hoya Australis or Wax Plant as they are sometimes called are easy to look after, in fact the less you do the less you do the better. The plant has fleshy leaves and produces clusters of fragrant white or pink waxy flowers. 

Maranta Prayer Plant

Commonly known as prayer plant - Maranta is a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae, native to tropical Central and South America, and the West Indies. 

Peace Lily

A very popular plant, the peace lily is sought after due to its gorgeous glossy foliage that stays dense and bushy along with its arum like flowers that are very long lasting.

Philodendron Birkin

Beautiful striped leaves make this guy a real eye catcher!
