Our Story

It all started with a trip to Japan.

Back in 2016, we came home with full camera rolls, a mild ramen dependency, and one idea we couldn't shake. Everywhere we looked, plants were part of everyday life. They filled tiny apartments, brightened cafés, sat proudly on shop counters and quietly transformed ordinary spaces into calm, welcoming places to be.

It wasn't about owning rare plants or having a home worthy of a magazine cover. It was simply about living alongside nature.

We wanted more of that.

So House of Kōjō sprouted in the UK with one simple mission: make beautiful indoor plants accessible to everyone. Not just collectors. Not just people with a conservatory and a colour-coded watering schedule. Everyone.

Since then, we've travelled, searched and worked with specialist growers around the world to bring together everything from easy-going first plants to statement specimens that stop guests mid-conversation.

Every plant is carefully chosen, lovingly packed and delivered straight to your door by people who care just as much about your order as you do. We know the excitement of opening a new plant, and we think that feeling should start the moment your parcel arrives.
