Desert Mix is a peat free potting mix designed for all round use with cacti and succulents. The light and airy substrate allow for maximum drainage with some water retention to ensure good root growth without root rot. It's composed primarily of calcined molar clay, fine bark, sand and pumice.
Desert Mix is ideal for many Pachypodium, Euphorbia, Astrophytum, Echinocereus, and most other cacti and succulent genera.

Just potted my peyote cactus and elephant ear succulent into this, and it seems perfect! The mix has a great balance of drainage and aeration, plus it looks really nice. I’m sure my plants will thrive in it. Highly recommend!

This desert mix seems to have done a treat on my cacti and succulents. They have for the last two months since having brought it grown much faster than the old mix I used to use. And a few have been producing pups which they have not done before.
This is a very good mix. I bave been using it for ally succulents and they love it and produce beautiful healthy roots. I recently tested the mix complwtely differently - its composition seemed appropriate for growing pinguicula so I tried a few in it. So far they are doing very well. Of course for pings it needs to be kept moist during growing season. Only time will show if they thrive however.

Mostly an excellent product. Unfortunately it is let down by the size of some of the pieces, which are so big as to make it unusable for the intended purpose. I had to spend quote some time sorting through it picking out the large pieces so that I could use this product to repot my cactus and succulents. Smaller Lithops and any young or newly propagated succulents would be unable to survive with the bigger pieces left in the mix. The rest of the mix is perfect, quite why the giant pieces are included is a mystery to me. Some were more than double the size of the plants I was potting!
