Customers praised this potting mix as "perfect for different sort of plants" with excellent water absorption and drainage. Most orchids, including Phalaenopsis and Cymbidium, thrived in it. However, one customer found it too water-retentive with soil-like debris, noting it may suffocate some orchid roots and is better suited for smaller orchids.

Good mox for amall orchids. I live chunkier bark for mine, but I used it in two orchids, one big Phalaenopsis and a mini Scaphosepalum Verrucosum and are both very happy.

Not orchid appropriate

Like the medium grafe bark this orchid mix is sadly not appropriate for most orchids. Phalarnopsis and cattleya roots will most certainly be suffocated by it as it contains a large amount of soil-like debris.
I did not use it for my orchids but as my request to return for a refund was ignored after I sent photos, I used it to grow maranta in and they are happy. That just shows how water retentive the media is. I added a photo of the listing image (top part) and actual media (bottom).

Looks good, plenty to repot

Looks good, plenty to repot my orchid - probably enough for two plants. It’s too early to tell if it is happy in the mix but I feel I’ve given it the right blend!
