about this product
about this product
'Large de Belleville' is the classic French garden sorrel: broad, pale green leaves with a sharp lemony tang, on a hardy perennial that comes back year after year. Rumex acetosa 'Large de Belleville' is a long-established French variety, slower to bolt than wild sorrel, so it gives a long season of leaves. Pick them young for a citrus lift in salads, or wilt older leaves into a butter sauce for fish, a spring soup or an omelette. A small patch feeds a household from spring to autumn.
